Kundalini & Chakras: How to Unleash your Full Potential

commençant le Vendredi 10 février 2017 à 18:30

Ce programme est enseigné en anglais.

One of the essential teachings of Yoga is that we are potentially divine. ‘Kundalini’ is the name of the limitless divine potential within us. This divine potential within us is dormant and needs to be awakened to realize our full potential and live a life of peace and enlightenment. Kundalini Yoga is the sacred spiritual science that teaches us about the Kundalini energy, its essential nature as well as how to awaken it. Kundalini Yoga, just like other paths of Yoga, goes back to the Upanishads and Vedas.

However, in recent times, a lot of ‘modern mythology’ about Kundalini and Chakras has been spawned and popularized, with little to no experiential basis supporting it. In this series of workshops about Kundalini and Chakras, we go back to the roots of authentic Kundalini Yoga as taught by the Upanishads as well as Tantric texts.

We begin the journey with understanding certain essential concepts such as Koshas (dimensions of existence) and Elemental Energies. Then, we move onto exploring the essential nature and purpose of Chakras (inner energy centers), along with their Elemental Energies and Deities. Some Mudras and Mantras as well as practices to cleanse the Chakras will also be covered. We also experience Nada Yoga as a Chakra-cleansing practice.

The sessions involve some basic as well as advanced techniques of meditation on Deities and Yantras (sacred geometry), practice of Mudras as well as chanting Mantras from the Upanishads and Tantric texts. The focus would be on exploring the classical teachings of the ancient texts, without any of the modern fluff.

Preparation

Sattvic lifestyle throughout the weekend

As the process is to take us deep within ourselves, we ask participants to maintain a sattvic lifestyle throughout the weekend with light eating (salad, sprouts, sandwiches, soups, no spices, smoking, soda or coffee). This applies to all meals outside the center.

Observe silence during break times within the center.

Wear loose clothes and bring whatever helps you sit and meditate comfortably: your yoga mat, cushion and a blanket or two.

While the weekend progresses as an integrated whole and we encourage you to immerse yourself in the full program, you can still derive benefit from attending individual sessions. This workshop will be followed by a companion workshop September 22nd-24th: "Kundalini & Chakras: How to Awaken the Energy Within".
