This program is taught in English.
We will apply the Chinese theory of meridians, Five Elements & their emotional and energetic benefits to the Yin Yoga asanas to learn how to better use Yin Yoga as a healing modality. This workshop is an opportunity to immerse yourself more deeply into the applied body acupressure points and Yin Yoga poses to help balance those points.
Suitable for all yoga practitioners and bodyworkers of all levels and styles who would like to explore and learn a complementary practice to all the dynamic yoga styles.
No previous yin yoga is necessary. Everybody is welcome.
The normal price is 27 Euros. Early-bird until September 6th is 23 Euros.
Style: Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a modern synthesis of Tao Yin and hatha yoga developed by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers. In Yin yoga, floor postures are held for a long duration (3-5 minutes). On a physical level, it helps to increase the suppleness in the joints within our natural range of motion. While staying in the positions, we apply gentle pressure on the joints and relax the muscles around them. This way we affect the deep connective tissues and initiate the natural repair mechanism of the body. Energetically, Yin Yoga helps opening the body’s meridian system. Teacher: Diana Zagorskaya
Yoga has been a part of Diana’s life since the early 2000s. Born on the boarder with China, she has been highly influenced by eastern philosophy and medicine. Before yoga, she did gymnastics, mountain hiking and swimming, all of which helped her to quiet and focus her mind, but she was longing for a deeper truth of life and sought out growth experiences. In Cyprus, daily spontaneous breathing and physical practices amazed her by their deeply harmonizing effect and supported her in her spiritual journey. She later found them to be yogic asanas and breathing techniques when she started a formal, structured practice of yoga with Denise at Yoga La Source. She finished a 500-hour Teacher Training Course (Yin, Somatic yoga, Pranayama and Mindfulness) in 2017 and attends regular teaching intensives around the globe.
