Style: Sivananda Yoga
Sivananda Yoga is the style of hatha yoga practiced at Sivananda centers founded by Swami Vishnudevananda of Kerala. It is for the student seeking inner tranquility and centeredness. In a Sivananda class, we start with conscious breathing exercises to tune inward then the sun salutation, a cardio-vascular exercise, to warm up. This is followed by 12 core postures to channel and concentrate vital energy. A guided relaxation is done at the end and brings about the overall sense of harmony and well-being one feels after class. Teacher: Andrée Lentz
Andrée discovered yoga at the age of 18. She developed her knowledge in several yoga styles, chiefly Ashtanga yoga. The desire to share and to pass on yoga motivated her to obtain her yoga teaching diploma in 2011 from the Ecole André Van Lysebeth in Paris (in the tradition of Swami Sivananda). She currently follows a specialized training in Ayurveda Yoga at the Yoga Akademie Ayurveda à Krefeld (BDY), in the tradition Krishnamacharya /Desikachar. Go to Andrée's page.

What to bring:
- There are men and women's changing rooms at this location. Wear comfortable clothing to stretch in.
- There are 10 yoga mats to borrow out of 24 possible students attending. We prioritize the mats for first-time students who don't have a mat. After the first class, please purchase and bring your own mat. We sell mats at good value.
