I attended my first yoga class in 2010. It was a Hatha Yoga practice in the Iyengar tradition. I still remember how sore my body was the next day. Yet, despite the aches, something pulled me back. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what yoga was, but I soon began to feel its long-term impact: my body grew stronger and more flexible, my mind clearer and more focused. After each class, I felt energised, and I started sleeping better. It felt good.
When I moved to Luxembourg in 2014, I couldn’t find an Iyengar class, so I practiced Vinyasa Flow which was less focused on alignment, more dynamic, and fitness-oriented.
In 2019, I travelled to the Indian Himalayas where an Indian guru taught me traditional yoga: the same sequence of asanas each day, followed by pranayama, meditation, and lectures on Indian philosophy and Vedic science. That experience transformed my understanding of yoga from a physical discipline to an energetic and deeply internal practice which allows one to observe and harmonise subtle energies within the body.
Back in Luxembourg, I continued the practice I had learned in India, which became even deeper and more personalised during the pandemic. Afterwards, I participated in a few workshops at Yoga La Source and eventually found my way to a Sivananda course led by Fredric Bender. It was exactly what I had been looking for.
The Sivananda method offers a holistic approach: – Asanas build strength, flexibility, and enhance energy flow. – Pranayama boosts vitality and clarity. – Savasana helps restore balance and release tension. – Mantra Chanting opens the heart. – Meditation deepens awareness and helps to achieve mental focus.
To explore the essence of yoga more fully, I travelled to Rudraprayag in the Indian Himalayas, where in March 2025 I completed a four-week 200-hour Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Course. It was a profound and transformative process which I would like to share with others.
Come to my class to relax the body, calm the mind, discover the space within to connect with who you truly are, and achieve inner peace!
