Yoga La Source

Mahabhuta Hatha Yoga

Everything in the gross and subtle worlds is composed of the Mahabhutas ("great elements"): Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Space. For instance, in the gross world, Earth refers to matter like the bones and muscles of the body. In the subtle world, it refers to firmness and stability.

This hatha yoga style focuses on postures and breathing exercises designed to strengthen and balance the five elements within our bodies and minds.

Each week, the class will focus on one of the following elements:

Prithvi Sthiti – Grounding Yoga & Breathwork

Inspired by Prithvi (Earth), this class helps create stability in both body and mind. Alina guides you through Hatha Yoga postures that improve bone strength and joint health and Pranayama designed to bring steadiness to the nervous system. Regular practice improves balance, reduces joint pain and calms an overactive mind.

Jala Spanda – Fluidity & Energy Yoga

Water represents movement and cleansing. This session, based on Jala (Water), enhances circulation and lymphatic flow through gentle, continuous movements. Alina couples Hatha Yoga practice to improve flexibility and release tension with Pranayama techniques to enhance lung capacity and promote deeper, more effortless breathing. Regular practice helps with stiffness, better breathing and overall relaxation.

Agni Sadhana – Strength & Vital Breath

Agni (Fire) is the energy of transformation. This session awakens the body's inner heat, improving digestion and metabolism. Alina leads a Hatha Yoga sequence that strengthens the core and increases endurance then guides a Pranayama practice that activates the internal fire, boosting circulation and energy. Regular practice supports digestion, increases energy levels and improves focus.

Vayu Tattva – Lightness & Breath Expansion

Vayu (Air) governs movement, breath and mental agility. This session focuses on lightness and energy, helping remove sluggishness. Alina’s Hatha Yoga practice improves posture and mobility adding Pranayama techniques to enhance lung capacity and regulate the nervous system. Regular practice boosts energy, improves flexibility and calms the mind.

Akasha Dhyana – Expansion & Deep Breath

Akasha (Space) represents expansion and clarity. This class focuses on light movements and deeper breathing to create more space within the body. Alina’s Hatha Yoga postures help release stiffness in the spine and shoulders followed by Pranayama to improve oxygen absorption, reducing fatigue. Regular practice relieves tension, improves posture and helps you feel more refreshed.

Alina's husband Surender will assist.
