Kundalini & Chakras: How to Awaken the Energy Within

commençant le Vendredi 22 septembre 2017 à 18:30

Ce programme est enseigné en anglais.

One of the essential teachings of Yoga is that we are potentially divine. ‘Kundalini’ is the name of the limitless divine potential within us. This divine potential within us is dormant and needs to be awakened to realize our full potential and live a life of peace and enlightenment. Kundalini Yoga is the sacred spiritual science that teaches us about the Kundalini energy, its essential nature as well as how to awaken it. Kundalini Yoga, just like other paths of Yoga, goes back to the Upanishads and Vedas.

However, in recent times, a lot of ‘modern mythology’ about Kundalini and Chakras has been spawned and popularized, with little to no experiential basis supporting it. In this series of workshops about Kundalini and Chakras, we go back to the roots of authentic Kundalini Yoga as taught by the Upanishads as well as Tantric texts.

In this sequence of sessions, we delve into the divine Kundalini Energy Herself, different movements of the Kundalini as well as some practices to awaken the Kundalini. We also learn about some lesser known Chakras as well as take a look at how the zodiac signs influence the Chakras. Last but not least, Chakra cleansing through the sacred sounds of Sitar in the form of Nada Yoga brings the series to a close.

Schedule

Day/Time Activity

Friday

18:30-21:30

Kundalini - The Universal Energy Within

We explore Kundalini energy - in Her Universal as well as individual aspects - in this session. Awakening the Kundalini energy, different movements of Kundalini, signs and effects of Kundalini awakening are some of the topics that will be dealt with. Chanting ‘Kundalini Stava’ - an ancient and rarely-heard hymn about Kundalini - is one of the things to look forward to.

Saturday

9:00-12:00

Mantras and Mudras for the Chakras

We focus on the Mantras and Mudras useful in cleansing the Chakras and awakening the Kundalini energy in this session. Principles of Sanskrit language will be served on the side as required.

Saturday

14:00-17:00

Micro Chakras

In this session, we explore some of the lesser known Chakras in the Energy Body. Knowledge of the location of these Chakras, their role in the overall internal energy system as well as some meditations on them will deepen your overall practice of Kundalini awakening.

Sunday

9:00-12:00

How the Universe influences your Chakras

Chakras are not merely an individual’s energy centres. Rather, they are universal energy centres as reflected within an individual’s consciousness. Therefore, naturally certain universal, external energies - such as the zodiac signs - influence the individual’s Chakras according to that individual’s karmic journey. Here, we explore the relationship between the zodiac signs and the Chakras and practice specific visual meditations involving glyphs of the zodiac signs and Chakras. Prior knowledge of Astrology not required, only open mind.

Sunday

14:00-17:00

Nada Yoga - Chakra Cleansing through Sacred Sounds of Sitar

Nada Yoga is one of the very effective ways of cleansing the Chakras of Karmic impurities. Meditation on the Chakras to the accompaniment of live as well as pre-recorded Sitar music will uplift your consciousness to higher levels.

Preparation

Sattvic lifestyle throughout the weekend

As the process is to take us deep within ourselves, we ask participants to maintain a sattvic lifestyle throughout the weekend with light eating (salad, sprouts, sandwiches, soups, no spices, smoking, soda or coffee). This applies to all meals outside the center.

Observe silence during break times within the center.

Wear loose clothes and bring whatever helps you sit and meditate comfortably: your yoga mat, cushion and a blanket or two.

While the weekend progresses as an integrated whole and we encourage you to immerse yourself in the full program, you can still derive benefit from attending individual sessions. This workshop is preceded by a companion workshop February 10-12: "Kundalini & Chakras: How to Unleash your Full Potential". Attending the previous workshop is not required to attend this workshop, but if you attended the previous workshop in full, we offer you an additional 20 Euros off this workshop if registering for all 5 sessions.

INFINY Membership fee

There is a 5 € membership fee if you have not participated in another INFINY asbl workshop in 2017 even if you are only attending a single session. The 5 € membership fee is necessary for insurance purposes.

Payment is fully refundable if cancellation is done no later than August 22nd, 2017. 50% lost if canceled by September 6th. If you cancel after September 6th, you may only be refunded if you are able to find a replacement for your place even in case of illness.
