Reiki

ReikiA century ago in Japan, Mikao Usui rediscovered the power of healing with universal energy. He called it REIKI after two Japanese concepts: REI which represents universal energy, and KI which represents that aspect of universal energy that resides within each individual. It is often referred to as chi in China and prana in yoga, and it is a subtle vital force that maintains our material, emotional, and mental well-being. When it is flowing naturally, one feels calm, vibrant, and joyful, connected to all of life. When it is weak or blocked, one can experience physical illness or emotional or mental disturbances.

The transmission of REIKI requires the practitioner to become deeply relaxed so that he can become sensitive to the flow of ki within his own being. As the practitioner becomes more concentrated on this energy and its flow, he can begin to serve as a channel for the energy to pass beyond his being toward the being of the recipient.

In the practical application of REIKI, the receiver lies clothed on a massage table, and the practitioner places the hands very gently on specific areas of the recipient's body that are considered energy hubs. In yogic terms, these are the 7 main chakras that correspond to various nerve plexuses of the physical body. The practitioner also places the hands on all of the different articulations of the limbs. By the end of the session, the recipient usually has a global feeling of wholeness and serenity.

Denise works in an intuitive manner where the REIKI session would come within the context of an Opening to the Self personal development session.

Denise also provides REIKI initiation for those who feel a calling to practice on themselves or others. She works on an individual basis by appointment and initiates people when the energy channels of the person are fully prepared to receive the REI energy. This process can take one or many sessions depending on the person's current level of development, but regardless, each session brings more clarity, comprehension, and wisdom.
