Surya & Chandra Yoga Intensive
starts Friday 01 july 2016 at 18:30
During this workshop, you will study and practice all the aspects of Hatha Yoga. You will gain insight into the deeper aspects of yoga (Prana, the Vayus and Kundalini) through direct personal experience.
What makes Daniel’s teachings unique is that they unite a strong physical practice with the rarely taught spiritual and meditative essence of Yoga. This is a rare opportunity to dive deep into Yoga and Meditation.
Daniel will share essential practises and deeper dimensions of Hatha Yoga. He will include techniques like Asana, Vinyasa, Pranayama, Mudra and Bandha.
He will also teach and guide meditations and shed light on how to relate to thoughts, feelings and the world around us as a Yogi in order to meet with the challenges of living Yoga today.
The spiritual way of Yoga that Daniel shares has become a rare commodity in today's yoga scene. Daniel lived and practiced in the caves of the Himalayas and was initiated into an ancient brotherhood of Yogis by his guru in the early 2000's. Since then, he has studied Yoga, Meditation and Tantra under great masters in India and shares the essence of his research with beginners, yogis and senior yoga teachers throughout the world. For 10 years, he ran a yoga studio in his native Sweden, but since 2011 he lives in Chiang Mai whenever he does not meet his Guru in India or teach internationally.
Schedule:
Day | Time | Activity |
---|---|---|
Friday | 18:30-21:00 |
Friday's program is open to all, whether participating in the workshop starting Saturday morning or not. Daniel will give a short introduction to Yoga as a way of unfolding the higher potential of your body, mind and spirit. This will set the tone for the whole weekend (it is highly beneficial to have comprehended the whole picture before setting out to study its details) and it will also inspire you to invest into your self through yoga and meditation. Beginners and curious bystanders as well as advanced practitioners wanting inspiration may participate. |
Saturday | 9:00-12:00 | The more physical and external aspects of Hatha Yoga that Daniel calls Surya Yoga. (See Surya page here) |
Saturday | 15:00-18:00 | dedicated to the inner and meditative aspects of Yoga that Daniel calls Chandra Yoga. (See Chandra page here) |
Sunday | 9:00-12:00 | the deeper levels of Surya will be shared |
Sunday | 15:00-18:00 | the deeper levels of Chandra will be shared |
Since Surya and Chandra are both intertwined parts of the ONE WHOLE (that is what Daniel aspires to share), you can not just join the two Surya sessions or the two Chandra sessions. Also, once the program begins, we have embarked on a process of unfoldment together, and during this process, Surya/Chandra/Hatha/Meditation will most surely appear every now and then during all sessions.
Imagine trying to separate a bundle of intertwined threads of different colours - if you will only pull the red thread for two hours and then the blue one for the following two you will most likely not succeed in untangling the mess ;)
In today's yoga scene, each class is structured and elaborates on different fragments of Yoga. This is good but the spiritual essence of Yoga is being left out by this limited way of study and as a result even students who have practiced, and even taught yoga for years, have failed to reconnect with Lord Shiva - the God or essence of Yoga - which is actually your soul or higher self - experienced as a higher state of consciousness in which all is clear, whole and complete in a state of peace, love and joy.
Student
Regardless if you are a novice or teacher, the workshop is sure to leave you inspired with practical tools to deepen your practice. Its open to students of all levels, but it is assumed that all students can do a sun-salutation, some basic asanas and sit straight with crossed legs for 15 minutes.

Style: Surya & Chandra Yoga
Surya Yoga is a very dynamic, strong and transformative form of yoga. In Surya Yoga, the “power-vinyasa-flow-yoga” and the “alignment-oriented" traditions are united, and therefore aspirants of Ashtanga, Anusara, Bikram, Iyengar and Vinyasa will feel familiar with this type of practice. Generally, a Surya Yoga session begins with vigorous vinyasa that evolves into “modern postural yoga” focused on physical alignment and proper attitude. Each session culminates into pranayama, meditation and a deep state of relaxation. Chandra Yoga is a traditional meditative yoga that involves asanas, mudras, pranayamas and kriyas to establish a meditative state-of-mind. Go to the Surya & Chandra Yoga page.
