Prana Kriya - "the Eight Breaths"

Prana Kriya is a purification practice that uses dynamic breathing along with the application of bandhas and visualisations to purify the energy body systematically from the pelvic floor to the crown of the head. The experience brings one more easily into an elevated state of consciousness with a feeling of joy, clear perception, and a tremendous feeling of being alive. The practice is done in the early morning on an empty stomach (no food or fluid beforehand) and sitting the whole time.

Tanya Haralamova

Sivananda Yoga Class

Sivananda Yoga is a hatha yoga practice for the student seeking inner tranquility and centeredness. We start with conscious breathing exercises to tune inward then the sun salutation, a cardio-vascular exercise, to warm up. This is followed by 12 core postures to channel and concentrate vital energy. A guided relaxation is done at the end and brings about the overall sense of harmony and well-being one feels after class. The balanced nature of the Sivananda sequence renders the student calm and lucid.

Surya Fackelmann

Ashtanga Yoga Class

Ashtanga vinyasa is a hatha yoga practice transmitted to Pattabhi Jois from the great yoga master Krishnamacharya. It is for students seeking an invigorating approach that purifies, stimulates and energizes. It consists of postures practiced in a fluid rhythm with a concentrated breath, steady gaze, and internal contractions to direct vital energy. Due to the dynamic nature of this practice, one feels completely energized and purified in each cell of the body and also in the mind.

Nidra Yoga Class

In Nidra Yoga, we consciously relax the muscles, organs, bones, sense organs (eyes, ears...), the process of sensing (vision, hearing...),  and the various functions of the mind to transcend the limited self and to come into the field of cosmic consciousness where time, space and the Ego all dissolve, and there is nothing left but the experience of oneness. It is very psychologically purifying. The normal ups and downs of life begin to affect us less and less as we attain a joyful equanimity. Aside from relaxation, Nidrā yoga also involves concentration practices to find the balance between relaxation and concentration to trigger this super-conscious state.

Vinyasa Krama: Exploring Maitri (Friendliness) & Karuna (Compassion) through Yoga + the Epics of India

An International Yoga Day initiative by the Center for Soft Power proposes a 2-hour program to promote Maitri and Karuna by coupling Vinyasa Krama with readings from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Vinyasa Krama Yoga consists of twelve major sequences. Each sequence contains a classic yoga posture and variations of movement (vinyasa) which lead to the mastery of that posture. The practice develops strength and flexibility. It improves circulation of blood, lymph and life energy (prana). It exercises all joints, muscles, and tissues of the body without stressing the heart. After, one sits for the more subtle practices of pranayama and meditation. Postures can be adapted easily to each student's level.

16:45-18:15

Hormone Yoga

Hormone yoga benefits all women who wish to maintain or regain their physical form, general health and happiness. It does this through a well-designed sequence of yoga postures and breathing exercises that keep the hormonal system in balance and proper functioning.
